Purina presents
A fun 5 km walk for people and pooches of all ages

In dozens of communities across Canada, Lions Clubs and volunteers are busy organizing a "Walk for Dog Guides". This fun-filled pet-friendly event spotlights the contribution of Dog Guides to improving the daily lives of Canadians with visual, hearing, medical or physical disabilities.

People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to come out. Leashed dogs are welcome guests, although you don't have to bring a dog to participate.

Admission to the 5K walk and festivities is absolutely free. We ask that in return you collect donations to help us meet the growing demand for Dog Guides. To show our appreciation, we have great incentive prizes, starting at the $125 pledge level.

Each Walk features a 'Team Challenge', suitable for groups of four or more co-workers. Challenge other businesses and organizations in this fund-raising drive!

And if you're bringing a dog, you'd better start rehearsing for the Silly Pooch contests. Depending on your community, there'll be prizes for human-canine lookalikes, best tail wagger, best singer, best trick, and/or best costume.

Dates and times vary - to find the one nearest you, just click here.

The local organizer will send you a pledge form that provides full information on the Walk, pledge collection procedures, and incentive prizes.

And if you don't care to walk but wish to participate, why not volunteer? Please speak to the local organizer if you're interested, or call Lions Foundation of Canada at 1-800-768-3030 / 905-842-2891 (email info@dogguides.com).
