Kennel Attendant - part-time

We are currently seeking a Kennel Attendant for part-time evenings and weekends. Job responsibilities would include:

  • Cleaning kennels
  • Feeding, grooming, and walking dogs
  • Driving dogs to veterinary appointments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detail Oriented
  • Previous experience handling dogs, either personal or professional
  • Detail Oriented
  • Energetic
  • Self Motivated
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Hold a valid drivers license

*A police check is required for all employees upon hiring.

Position Vacancy - Dog Guides Canada

Position Title: Apprentice Trainer – 3 Year Apprenticeship Position

Duties:
A three year program leading to the position of Trainer. Become proficient at preparing dogs and conducting classes with Special Skills and Hearing Ear clients (mobility, seizure alert, hearing ear)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience or involvement with the people with physical or medical disabilities.
  • Previous experience with dog training, either personal or professional.
  • A valid driver’s license
  • ASL proficiency and/or willingness to learn
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel

  Volunteer Opportunities  
     
 
The clients, staff and dogs appreciate your interest in volunteering for Dog Guides. Most volunteer positions are available during business hours Monday to Friday. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to participate in most volunteer positions. Limited volunteer opportunities are available for high school students, although there are occasionally co-op placements.
 
 


Current Opportunities:

Foster Puppy Parents – to raise a future Dog Guide for its first year

Office Support – letter folding, mailings, data entry, filing and various other duties (days & evenings)

Kitchen Assistant – assist with meal preparation for clients and for special events (days, evenings & weekends)

Kennel Assistant – visit, play and groom Dog Guides in training. * Must be 18 years of age or older.

Purina Walk for Dog Guides – assist with organization both before and on actual Walk Day.
