Introducing, POLLY!
After three years of a dedicated working career, Polly is ready to hang up her working uniform and find
the perfect retirement home where she can kick her paws up and enjoy some well-deserved R&R! This
happy girl has spent the past few years doing an important job, and she is now looking forward to a
slower pace filled with all the things she enjoys most.
Polly loves her people and is happiest simply having her humans nearby. While she isn’t the most
affectionate dog, she genuinely enjoys the company of her family and is content to spend time alongside
them. Around the house, Polly is happy to entertain herself, whether that means settling in for a nap or
enjoying a favourite toy. From time to time, Polly has been known to help herself to a tasty snack from
the kitchen counter, so her future family should be mindful of keeping counters clear and, when
needed, limiting her access to the kitchen to help set her up for success.
Now that Polly is entering retirement, her walks are becoming less about getting somewhere and more
about taking her time to enjoy the journey! She walks nicely on leash and loves stopping to investigate
all the interesting scents along the way. Her nose is an important part of her walks, and she would be
happy to have an adopter who doesn’t mind giving her plenty of time to stop and smell the flowers.
When it comes to other dogs, Polly can be somewhat selective about who she considers a friend. She
does enjoy playing with other dogs when the match is right, but she may react to some dogs while
walking on leash, which can include barking. When her handler engages with her and helps redirect her
attention, she is typically able to move along without much fuss. Her future family should be
comfortable respecting her preferences and helping her navigate these interactions.
Polly is ready for a retirement filled with leisurely walks, good naps, favourite toys, and plenty of time
simply enjoying life with her people
