Behind Dog Guides from the Start
In the early 1980’s Lions Clubs across Canada sought to develop a national project to reflect their service to Canadians with visual impairments. The result was Lions Foundation of Canada and its founding program, Canine Vision Canada, which was established in 1985. Ever since, Canadian Lions have been core contributors, volunteering, donating, and bringing awareness all across the country.
Serving Your Community
Over 80% of the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides are run by Lions Clubs across Canada! Your support of the Walk is critical to raise awareness and funds year-round. You can also volunteer and support the foundation in a number of other ways.
On a daily basis, Parade helps me prevent falls by reaching for items and helping clear pathways. She checks on me every morning when I get up and she waits patiently as I go about my daily care tasks waiting for opportunities to assist me. We have become a wonderful team. Parade is an amazing gift that keeps on giving. She has given me a renewed purpose as well as greater independence and confidence in my abilities. I am eternally thankful for Parade!
