About Us
At Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides (LFCDG), we help people with
disabilities live more independent lives by providing them with a Dog Guide at no
cost. We are proud to be the only school in Canada offering seven distinct Dog
Guide programs. Our operations span two locations: Oakville, ON, and Breslau,
ON.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join
our team. As the first point of contact for our Foundation, the Front Desk
Receptionist provides exceptional customer service while maintaining a
professional and welcoming presence. In this role, you will support the day-to-day
operations of the front desk and help ensure a positive experience for visitors,
clients, and callers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and assisting guests, clients, and volunteers who visit the organization
  • Coordinating front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence, receiving deliveries and redirecting phone calls
  • Processing records, Dedications Service details, monthly and mid-month donations, Gift Shop shipments, fleet maintenance records, and ordering office supplies for staff
  • Assisting with donor inquiries
  • Ensure that reception- related business process manuals are regularly updated, including current phone extensions and clearly defined responsibility lists
  • Offering administrative support across the organization
  • Providing support as needed to enable communication with Dog Guide stakeholders, including the public, clients and applicants, donors and other individuals in English and French
  • Providing interpretation and translation services to enable seamless communication with French language stakehold

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a front desk or receptionist position.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and comfortable using standard office equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
  • Welcoming and personable, with a genuine interest in building and maintaining positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and visitors.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and  priorities efficiently.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, sometimes noisy environment

Position Details

Type: Full-time, fixed-term contract ending August 31st, with the possibility  for extension

  • Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:30 am- 4:30 pm
  • Location: 152 Wilson Street, Oakville ON. (On-Site)
  • Vacancy Status: Open position
  • Annual Salary Range: $37,000- $45,000
