Introducing, ORVILLE!
Orville is a deeply affectionate, sensitive boy who is looking for a patient and understanding home to help him feel safe and secure. Once he forms a bond, he is incredibly cuddly and loving—he truly thrives
on close connection and will happily soak up all the affection you have to offer.
Orville walks beautifully on leash and enjoys getting out for calm, structured walks. He also gets along
very well with other dogs and would likely benefit from a confident canine companion to help show him
the ropes and build his confidence in a new environment.
Orville can be apprehensive when meeting new people. He may initially grumble or back away as he
takes time to assess and feel comfortable. With patience, space, and gentle introductions, he is able to
warm up and show his sweet personality. He is a dog who needs people to move at his pace and respect
his boundaries as he learns to trust.
In new or unfamiliar environments, Orville’s sensitivity becomes more apparent. He can be fearful of
everyday objects such as laundry baskets, hats, or bags, and may respond by barking or retreating when
something startles him. He can also be unsure when people change their appearance suddenly, such as
putting on a hat or changing clothes, and may need reassurance and time to process.
Orville’s anxiety was not as evident in his training environment, where he felt safe and comfortable, so
we are hopeful that with time, consistency, and a supportive home, he will settle and gain confidence.
He has recently started on anti-anxiety medication to help ease his transition and support his progress.
Orville is best suited for an experienced dog owner who understands anxious, fearful and underconfident dogs and is willing to provide patience, structure, and reassurance. With the right home, Orville has so much love to give and the potential to truly blossom.
